Apoka Safari Lodge is a comfortable luxurious Lodge found in the remote area of Kidepo Valley National Park. The Park sites are on the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with South Sudan and Kenya. Kidepo Valley National Park ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses and offers excellent game viewing and culture experience in Uganda with informative guides.

At Apoka Safari Lodge the rooms are beautiful and offer you comfort and a memorable night. The lodge has 10 expansive rooms with natural canvas walls surrounding a rocky kopje with stunning and breathtaking views across the savannah. The rooms have an en-suite bathroom with double sinks and a tropical shower. There is a provision for water that is heated with solar power.

Each room has private verandas that offer visitors views of the wildlife and landscape in the magnificent Kidepo Valley National Park. There are plenty of places to relax, read and drape oneself because the lodge has inside sitting rooms and private verandas. The big hand-hewn beds with soft duvets at the lodge are placed well with mosquito nets, hand-woven woolen carpets, extra-large towels, oversized dressing gowns to provide them a comfortable stay while at the lodge.

Apoka Safari Lodge also has a swimming pool facility that is deep, cool and is carved out of the big rock offering guests a chance to cool off after the day’s activities. The lodge’s main house has a restaurant that offers three-course meals and a lounge where guests can sit back and relax as they take in the beauty of the surrounding environment.

Staying at Apoka Safari Lodge gives you an opportunity to participate in different activities that the Parks offers including games viewing  both day and night, nature walks along the seasonal river and community walk, hiking, bird watching, village visit, and among others

How to get to Apoka Safari Lodge

By roads

Driving to Apoka Safari Lodge in Kidepo Valley National Park Uganda is more rewarding as vast parts of Karamoja are scenic and total wilderness. But road conditions are sometimes difficult to navigate and 4-wheel drive vehicles (4WD) are recommended

There are four possible routes which takes you to Apoka Safari Lodge in Kidepo National Park including; Kampala-Mbale-Moroto-Kidepo (792kms), Kampala-Sironko-Kotido-Kaabong-Kidepo (740kms), Kampala-Karuma-Lira-Kotido-Kidepo (705kms) and Kampala-Karuma-Gulu-Kitgum-Kidepo (571kms).

By air

Chartered aircraft are available from Entebbe International Airport to the park headquarters with an AeroLink for about 2 and 12 minutes. The lodge has a ground vehicle transfer that can pick you up from the Lomeja airstrip to the lodge.
